Our Technology

One of the ways we here at Joy Dental are proud to offer our patients the highest quality of care is through the latest technology. Here is a bit about some of the types of technology we use.

Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a special device that lets dentists and patients see inside a patient’s mouth in real-time. While dentists can use this for examination purposes, we primarily use this technology to educate patients on the state of their oral health. In real-time, we can give detailed instructions about a patient’s oral health and any potential problems or things to look out for.

Proper education can go a long way in improving your healthcare routine and preventing future problems.

Panoramic X-Ray

A panoramic x-ray machine is unlike your traditional x-ray. Whereas dentists used to have multiple x-rays to get an image of the whole mouth, a panoramic x-ray allows for a single x-ray to get a picture of the entire mouth, similar to how a panoramic photo works.

This is much more convenient for the dentist and patients and allows faster treatment.

Intraoral Sensor

An intraoral sensor is a small device that dentists can use to take fast and incredibly detailed radiographic images of the inside of a patient’s mouth. This makes for much better detection of injuries and potential gum disease, decay, and other problems that would be more difficult to spot with a standard x-ray. The compact nature of the sensor makes it much less invasive than other options, making it easier for patients to tolerate.

Intraoral Scanner

The intraoral scanner is a device used to take detailed 3D images and impressions of the mouth without the need for invasive equipment or multiple images. The device is linked to a computer and can produce high-quality images that can be viewed and enhanced, making this one of the most powerful imaging tools your dentist has available.
